CREATE MULTIMEDIA DAISY BOOKS WITH FREE TOOLS (using pre-recorded audio or live recording)
Using the combination of Save as DAISY add-in and Tobi, any document can be converted to a DAISY book and synchronized with pre-recorded audio files or live recording to create multimedia DAISY books. The process involves creation of a structured document in Microsoft Word, conversion to XML using the free Save as DAISY add-in and then synchronization with audio in Tobi.
A very important part of this process is semantic mark-up of the text using styles. Make sure you read Text mark-up guidelines for Save as DAISY before starting the process.
The following tutorials will help you complete the process:
- Convert a Word document to a DTBook
- Tobi: Accessible DAISY Book Production Using the Human Voice
- Video: Using Tobi to author DAISY multimedia
