AMIS Software Overview

AMIS is an open source DAISY player, developed by the DAISY Consortium and provided free of charge. It is available for the Windows platform and has been translated into many different languages. The main project page is http://daisy.org/amis. Here on DAISYpedia, you'll find additional resources for using AMIS.

If you are looking for books to play in AMIS, please see our samples area, and be sure to choose DAISY 2.02 or DAISY 3 books (not ePub or DTBook).

The complete user interface of AMIS can be changed into different languages. Some of the translations of AMIS available at the time of this wiki entry are: English, Chinese, Tamil, French, Afrikaans, Norwegian, Icelandic, Japanese, Swedish, and Spanish. New languages are being added all the time, so be sure to check our translations page often.

If you are interested in creating a translation, please contact us and we will supply you with everything you need.
